There are several possible causes, from restricted airflow and thermostat issues to frozen components or low refrigerant. Check that the thermostat is set to Cool, the filter is clean and the outdoor unit isn’t covered. If the air still isn’t cool, turn the system off and have it diagnosed: book AC repair.
Ice on your AC unit, coil or refrigerant lines can point to restricted airflow, a dirty filter or a refrigerant problem. Turn the AC off and let it thaw rather than running it frozen, check your filter, and have the system inspected before you turn it back on. To find the cause, book AC repair.
