Humidifier installation in London, Ontario
Bring comfort back to dry indoor air
Ontario winters can leave the air inside your home feeling uncomfortably dry. Donaldson Home Services installs whole-home humidifiers for homes in London and surrounding communities, working with your HVAC system to add moisture and help maintain more comfortable indoor humidity levels.

Is the air in your home too dry?
Dry indoor air is especially common during the heating season, when outdoor temperatures drop and your heating system runs more frequently. A professionally installed humidifier can add moisture as air circulates through your HVAC system, helping maintain more comfortable humidity levels throughout your home.
A humidifier may be worth considering if:
Too much humidity can create problems too. The goal isn’t to add as much moisture as possible; it’s to maintain an appropriate indoor humidity level for the conditions in your home.

Better humidity control starts with the right system
A humidifier needs to be properly selected, installed and controlled to work effectively with your home’s heating system. Donaldson will look at your existing equipment and humidity concerns before recommending a solution.
We’ll help you choose a system designed to add the right amount of moisture, not simply more moisture. A humidifier is one of our indoor air quality services; if your home has the opposite problem, stuffy air or condensation, see HRV and ERV ventilation. We install humidifiers for homes in London and surrounding communities.

What your neighbours are saying about us

Whole-home vs. portable humidifiers
Both can add moisture to dry indoor air, but they work very differently. The right choice depends on how much of your home you’re trying to humidify and how much day-to-day involvement you want.
Portable humidifiers
Portable humidifiers are designed for individual rooms or smaller areas. They can be useful for targeted humidity but generally require regular refilling, cleaning and adjustment.
Whole-home humidifiers
A furnace-mounted humidifier works with your home’s heating system to distribute moisture through the ductwork. Rather than treating one room at a time, it’s designed to provide more consistent humidity control throughout the areas served by the system.
Which option makes sense?
If you’re trying to address dryness in one specific room, a portable unit may be enough. If dry air is a concern throughout your home, an HVAC-integrated humidifier may provide a more convenient solution.
Donaldson can assess your existing system and help determine which type of humidification makes sense for your home.

Humidifier FAQs
Have more questions? We’ve got the answers.
A whole-home humidifier adds moisture to the air as it moves through your HVAC system, helping maintain more consistent indoor humidity throughout the areas served by your heating system. Unlike a portable unit, there are no tanks to refill or carry from room to room. Ask us about a whole-home humidifier.
Persistent dry indoor air, frequent static electricity and very low indoor humidity during the heating season can all be reasons to consider a humidifier, as can wood floors or trim that are drying or shrinking. Donaldson can assess your home and HVAC system to determine whether adding humidity is appropriate. Tell us what you’re noticing.
There isn’t one ideal setting for every home or every outdoor temperature. Indoor humidity needs to be balanced with outdoor conditions and your home’s construction. If condensation starts forming on windows or other cold surfaces, humidity may be set too high. Condensation that keeps coming back can point to a ventilation issue: see HRVs and ERVs.
Maintaining appropriate indoor humidity can help reduce excessive drying and movement in wood flooring, furniture, trim and other wood materials. However, humidity should still be properly controlled because excessive moisture can also cause problems. Donaldson sets up and tests the controls when we install your humidifier. HVAC-installed humidifiers are designed to work with compatible forced-air heating systems. The appropriate equipment and installation depend on your furnace, ductwork and available space, which Donaldson will assess before recommending a system. For the furnace side of your system, see our heating services.
Yes. Maintenance requirements depend on the type of humidifier installed and may include replacing water panels or other components, cleaning the unit and checking its operation. Donaldson will explain the care required for the system you choose. Humidifiers are included in our Whole-Home Care plan: see Membership Plans.
The cost of humidifier installation depends on the type of humidifier, your existing HVAC system and the requirements of the installation. Donaldson can assess your home and provide clear pricing for a humidification system appropriate for your setup before any installation begins. Request a quote.
